How Was the Cover of Jaded Designed?

I’ve been getting some awesome questions about how we picked the artistic direction we did for the cover of Jaded. Here’s what you need to know:

The cover was actually inspired by a  photo shoot I did many years ago that told a very similar story to what I was working on in Jaded. I designed the cover as concept art in the very early stages of writing the book and it strongly influenced both this story and the sequel.

The photo shoot itself happened after we had one of my favorite apple trees fall into our house (no damage done to the house, thankfully) and I couldn’t let it go without commemorating it in a shoot.

Of course, there is much more to this story, but it will definitely give away the cover of the sequel, so we’ll hold off on that for now!

Do you love the Jaded cover? How does it play into the story of Jade and Roan? What do you think the cover to the sequel will be like? Sound off in the comments!

Stay inspired,

-K.M.
